When encrypted collaboration is required

Some legal conversations involve ongoing coordination around a matter, exchange of sensitive documents, or discussions that benefit from written or visual context over time. These interactions require strong encryption and a shared space that persists beyond a single conversation.

Secure Spaces support this type of collaboration by providing an encrypted environment where participants can communicate and share files within the context of a matter.

Bspoke Secure Spaces for sensitive collaboration

Secure Spaces are organized around a specific matter and shared only with authorized participants. Within a Secure Space, participants can exchange messages, hold encrypted voice or video conversations, and share files in a single, persistent environment.

All communication within a Secure Space is protected using end-to-end encryption. Content remains accessible only to participants and is protected in transit and at rest by cryptographic controls.

How Bspoke supports Secure Spaces

Bspoke provides an administrative layer over Secure Spaces, supporting user provisioning through a matter's lifecycle.

By handling user provisioning simply and centrally, Bspoke allows firms to deploy encrypted collaboration consistently, without requiring internal teams to manage cryptographic systems.

Records and retention

Secure Spaces handle records differently from voice applications.

What is retained depends entirely on how the Secure Space is configured by the firm; configuration may:

  • retain message and file history, or

  • expire messages and files automatically, including burn-on-read behavior, or

  • operate without retaining content at all

Encrypted voice and video conversations are not recorded or reconstructed by Bspoke Secure Spaces. Content remains accessible only to authorized participants for the duration it is retained, based on firm-defined expiration and retention settings.

This allows firms to choose between ephemeral collaboration and limited retention, without creating participation records or procedural documentation beyond what is explicitly enabled.

Where Bspoke Secure Spaces fit

Secure Spaces are used when encrypted collaboration — messaging, voice, video, or file sharing — is the appropriate way to support all or part of a legal matter.

Depending on the interaction, firms may instead choose:

  • Legal Pro, when participation in a voice call must be provable

  • Legal Center, when proceedings require separation and sequencing

Secure Spaces are part of the broader Bspoke Legal Suite, allowing firms to apply the appropriate communication approach to each interaction based on context and judgment.
